Newbie & Hello

Hello,

I'm Tyler and new to this forum and already learning great information from the past threads. My current rig is a 1955 GMC 1st series with a 270 and 400r4 tranny. Has a Chevy front clip which I prefer the look over the GMC so all is good. Just finished the coke "stash box" which turned out well in my opinion.

Looking forward to learning more about these trucks.

Ha. I'm sure I could put on a paper hat and drive to a show in the height of summertime and make a killin!

Re: Newbie & Hello

Welcome from So. Arizona!

I have a 1st series GMC and my front grill and fenders looks a bit different.
That is the first one I have seen with the round parking lights
I am the second owner of this truck so I believe this is the stock set up.
Do you have a picture of the dash?

Thumbs up Re: Newbie & Hello

Morning,

Thats a good looking truck! Love the subtle red stripe. You are correct your front is stock for a 55 1st series and mines a bit "bastardized" having a front end from Chevrolet with the GME emblem mounted on hood. The dash should match (see attached).

Re: Newbie & Hello

Well that's no Chevy dash for sure.

So to the guy that asked, "Is a Chevy glove compartment door the same as the GMC ?"

The answer is NO.

Re: Newbie & Hello

Great looking truck.... I don't believe those running lights are stock on any chevy or GMC
But all these trucks should reflect what the owners want. God knows I don't keep mine stock.

Re: Newbie & Hello

WOW. Now that is a killer looking dash my friend. Custom panels? What classic series gauges are those?
