CPP Firewall Mounted Booster
Who's using the CPP firewall mounted power brake booster and brake pedal in their 47-53 and how do you like it? Is the brake pedal located in a comfortable position? Any negatives other than the fact you have that ugly beast staring you in the face every time you open the hood? I kinda like the fact that I can rid my cab of holes in the floor and I would be able to check and add fluid without the GM designed hassles.

Re: CPP Firewall Mounted Booster
HI
Just installed the firewall booster . instructions show to use a 2.5inch hole saw but the diagram shows a 2 inch hole Use the 2.5 inch holesaw check and double check your measurments went in really nice stock seat is perfect as well you can adjust pedal height and the the unit has brake light switch mount as well as steering column mount built into it I was impresssed with the quality Like you I did not want holes in the floor |

Re: CPP Firewall Mounted Booster
Thanks for the info. I was surprised I didn't get more responses as I thought these would be a popular upgrade. Nice to hear it fit well as I've read some of CPP's other products didn't. I think the benefits of the dash mounted brake pedal along with eliminating the holes in the floor outweigh the fact that it protudes into the engine compartment, especially in an everyday driver. Did not realize brake pedal was ajustable, not mentioned in the specs, but that is a nice feature.

Re: CPP Firewall Mounted Booster
I have the CPP firewall master on my TF. I really like it but did a few mods to make it better.
The details are in my build thread if you are interested. |

Re: CPP Firewall Mounted Booster
put it in as well but ended up lowering the brake pedal by cutting a wedge out of it , heating it up and bending the arm lower and welded it up ground smooth painted and looks and more importantly
put the pedal lower for the foot reaction time |

Re: CPP Firewall Mounted Booster
Roger truck and your work is amazing. I did want to point out that either cpp has changed their design or they sent you the wrong one because my bracket is way different that that one. It's more....I'm gonna use the word symmetrical but anyway truck looks really great!!!!!!

Checked out your build thread. Talk about amazing work! I'd be interested in what changes CPP made to the setup. Mine must have been the correct one since it matched up and bolted to the base of the dash just fine. Do you have any photos of how the bracket looks? I saw the one photo in your build thread on the outer side and I see the booster does look different than mine. The photo CPP has on their website still looks like the one I have. |
