manual transmission crossmember?
Ok. I am new to the chevy world. Even newer to the older trucks.
I bought a 1970 c10 and have found/replaced a bunch of parts including the transmission. I pulled the three speed and swapped it for a four speed. There was no crossmember for the rear of the trans when i pulled the three speed. Now the four speed "floats". Its only held up by the 4 bolts on the bell housing. I wanna say the trans is a borg warner t10 Does anyone know what crossmember fits? Or what after market crossmember i should buy? Thanks in advance. Re: manual transmission crossmember?
if it is the SM465 4 speed, I think that's it. Just the cast iron bell housing with mounts and the tranny hanging off the back side.

Re: manual transmission crossmember?
I have heard of guys just using the stock bell housing x-member but I don't think I would do it. The SM465 would prolly be OK but if you ever get on it with the T10 I would be afraid to crack the case with the added length. I put a Saginaw in my 72 Blazer and fabricated my own x-member but several outfits sell the. I think an automatic member will work fine and I think carries the same mount.

Re: manual transmission crossmember?
I just ran a 1/4" piece of flat bar across and bolted it to the frame and trany
Works great and cost me $5 at the scrap yard.
