Locations of VIN on Blazer ?

Realized yesterday since my Blazer came from out of state, it has to be inspected to verify VIN numbers as I title it. Would have been nice if I would have thought of that before I got it off the borrowed trailer, oh well.

I want to get the VIN locations located and cleaned up to make the inspection go easy. Anybody know the various places I will find the VIN on a 1970 Blazer?

Now come on Yukon. This is definatly a Blazer Forum Question.

I do know it's on the drivers door jam. Not sure of the frame tag.

Don't know about Blazers, but on trucks it's on the frame rail next to the motor mount on the driver side. Also, heard of it being under the cab on the driver side. Since that one is so well hidden, I don't think they will check it.

Okay ran out and looked and yes there is a VIN on the door sill.

Didn't read about the motor mount one until just now, but I did find numbers on the frame on drivers side of the cab about 10 inches behind the front cab mount. It says 3979875 180 5 6 20 while the VIN tag says KE180S1697_ _. Do the first numbers mean anything to anyone. They can't be an exact VIN for anything as it doesn't start with two letters. The 1805 in both may mean something, I don't know anything about VIN's and how frame numbers should look.

Okay, went out again and about 6 inches in front of the motor mount location on the top of the frame rail is the numbers 0S1697_ _ so I'm fine. The numbers on the side of the frame rail must mean something else.

Thanks for the help guys!

I think the number on the frame rail under the cab is the frame part number. My one ton has a number like that on the passenger side and I do know it is a part number.
