Re: 1972 Jimmy Resurrection
I do too! Only for blazers i like the GMC better than the chevy, but any other 67-72 truck i like both equal. Looks nice dude!

Almost Ready For Primer!
I'm close to primer after a month of body work. Still no rust surprises just a mess of bondo I cut out to find a mess of slide hammer holes. I welded them all up and used a cold wet rag to shrink the metal back into shape. Whoever did that work had no business using a slide hammer. But then again, back when it was done nobody cared about trucks. I'm hoping to have it painted by the end of April.

Primer
a few spots I'm not totally happy with but we'll see how it blocks out with the guide coat. The cowl I'm going to have blasted as I don't feel like sanding the three paints jobs off that like I did the rest of the truck. The I can go wet on wet when I paint it separately and save my finger prints.

Re: 1972 Jimmy Resurrection
Been a while since I've updated. I've been driving the Jimmy for two years now and have worked out all the bugs. The TBI set up from affordable fuel injection has been awesome! Starts first crank, tones of power and no flooding on steep hills. Got around to a few mods this weekend. I dropped in a HD44 front and a 60 rear with a dana power lok. The switch to 4.11's from 3.08's was a HUGE improvement! I switched to a one ton booster and master while I was at it. The first stop I nearly hit the steering wheel being used to the old brakes. The big 3/4 ton rotors and drums help as well.

One being used for the purpose she was designed for. Camping in the middle of nowhere. I'll never understand RV sites. 4x4 tent trailer, fly rod, life perfect with a cold stout around the evening fire.

Re: 1972 Jimmy Resurrection
Great work on that jimmy.
Good luck, and have fun (I don't think you'll have any problems with that!), Rg

Re: 1972 Jimmy Resurrection
When I put the crate engine in a good buddy of mine was going to hot rod the old well seasoned 4 bolt main 350. He tore it down and found it was already 60 over so he decided to put it to better use. The two cylinders on the top are the reason I leave his shop feeling sleepy. At least I know where the original engine is.
