LS swap power steering

Any of you guys running your old gm pump... My 6.0 didn't come with a power steering pump. So I'm keeping it low budget...

Re: LS swap power steering

You can't run an old school pump on the new LS based engines...they just won't bolt up. You can, however, use the factory LS pump and the lines will bolt up to it from the factory steering box.

Re: LS swap power steering

To plumb my steering system up I used the 2002 lsx p/s pump with the '76 regulator from the old pump. This allowed the '76 p/s pressure line to bolt up to the 2002 pump body. Check out the build thread in my sig, I believe there is a pic in there of what I did.

Re: LS swap power steering

The LS truck engines do use the same Saginaw pump as our trucks, the only issue you may run into is the reservoir is not the same and may not clear the engine bracket. Otherwise it should bolt up.
