How can you tell if wheel will clear disc brakes after conversion?

I have a 72 frame but would like to keep my 6 lug rear and get the rotors redrilled by a race shop here in town to be 6 lugs.

The reason I want to do this is the gearing in my 6 lug rear s better for my needs and I already have some dhrom reverse wheels I would like to use. Before I spend the 70 to get the rotors redrilled I would like to ensure my rims will fit.

Is there a sure fire way by just looking at the rim itself

Cool

Know what you are going through, I just ordered a IFS for my truck through Scotts hotrods and all they offer is 5 lug, early classic has a set of 5 lug GM axles that fit our trucks or I should say the 67- 70 trucks, they had shorter axles than the 71 & 72, How is it you have 6 lug or is yours 3/4ton? There are also several companies that have 6 lug rotor setups as well. Early classic has both these setups. the Rotors that you are outting on are probally 12" add another 1.5" for rotor and you should have no problem reusing you 15" rims.

My frame on my 69 is rusted through, so I bought a donor 72 frame.

I know there are several Companies that make disk brake conversions and I really don't ever remember seeing any articles about rim issues after conversion, you should be fine..
