Blinker problems

I just noticed last night, that my blinkers are acting funny. When I turn on the blinker, it will flash normal, and I can hear the click of the flasher. It will flash normal like that a few times, then it will flash fast a few times without giving me the clicking noise, and then go back to the normal flash with the clicking noise, then a few quick flashes etc... It does this with either side. Then sometimes it flashes normal the whole time.

Any ideas?

Ok, I'll check the flasher first, then go from there.
Thanks for the replies.

You left the ground strap off the back of f the passengerside head when you put that hot rod motor in.
