power windows

I'm working on a 50 chevy pu that had the full windows,
Went with the smaller window n wing windows.
Want to put power reg in place of the hand crank type.
The hand crank shaft was rounded off so want to go with the power window set up.

Does anyome have any ideal which type of power unit would work in my 50 chevy?

All help would be helpful.

Re: power windows

a listmember here advised me on the Nurelic products - they test bolted right in to my '51 doors. I don't think there is room with a stock style inner door panel to have a switch in the original placement. I am putting the window power switches in an oval space that is below the windwing area, don't know if the '50 doors are the same.

Re: power windows

Hello;

Well I have try the 88jeep power window regs(won't work)
Have try a set of 2000 mits gulante ( don't work)

So looks like I'm going to after market set.
Speedway has a complete set for 150.00+ shipping.

Re: power windows

I have the Universal Electric Window Switches from Speedway and I love them. We did have an issue with the little contacts fouling, so a friend of mine installed a relay or restrictor that reduced the power to these contacts so they wouldn't foul out. (at least that's my basic understanding of how they work, I could be wrong) They've been great ever since and I like that they use the original window cranks.
