Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.
Thanks Ogre, the four door came out as a 1973 model. Many people do a double take when they see the door configuration.

Skymangs..Chris of Old Sarge customs had a shop fire and was severly injured. He will need rehabilitation as well. He is a great guy and has helped many on here with their builds and questions.
To help with the medical bills and expenses a fund has been set up here....http://gofundme.com/c49h5mjx8 More details are here...http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=676217 Whatever you can give will really help. Thank you. |

I like the digital gauges. Thinking about going that way myself. Now if I could just come up with a few extra $$$$.

Summitflier, These gauges are pretty nice though I prefer the Dakota Digital analog gauges for their look. When you get yours I am sure you will enjoy them.

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.
So we went to a little car show in Oblong today. Kids drove the Burb and we took the 56. They were selling 50/50 raffle tickets for a children's hospital priced at $10 for an arm length or $20 for a vehicle length.
Guess which one I took.... We had a great time! |

Thanks Jim. First time the kids took a vehicle to a show and now they want to do it again next Saturday. One of the vehicles won some award too...I think it was the Burb.

I did some time ago. Serious build. Heartbreaking seeing your Dad's truck all stripped down.

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.
Thanks Jim. Making good memories with the Grandkids and hopefully flaming their car passion. To help, I bought a plastic see through V8 model for the oldest and a take apart 4x4 for the little one for Christmas. I am going to need their help in the shop in a few years.

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.
Hey Doug,
I guess this would be considered giving an old thread a "bump". Love how your Sub looks! I know you bought it as-is from someone, but do you happen to know if it is the 504 yellow green/light green code? And any chance you can post some additional close-up pictures of the color? Maybe with it in the shade...and point out which picture is the closest match to how it really looks. I'm really leaning towards keeping my 69 Sled the original "Olive Green" which seems to be the same as code 504. Thanks and great find on yall's Sub! |

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.
Code 504 would be for a solid medium olive body. If you have a white roof or other two tone with medium olive the code on the SPID would be different. I think my code is a 534 for white roof and medium olive body.
Doug's Suburban looks repainted. In this pic there appears to be original paint on the B pillar and new paint on the doors. I could be an optical illusion though.

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.
BigDav,
My 69 is a solid olive green...someone told me it was a one coat paint - poly?? (don't know what they call that). I also noticed in an earlier picture his dash color looks identical to my interior and exterior olive green. I really like the exterior green on his Sub, but it does look a bit more "green" than my olive green or even his dash green. |

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.
Hi WannaBe68, BigDav is right, the exterior has been painted. I am pretty sure the interior paint is original. The truck came with pretty good documentation on the build and I can check the documents for exterior paint code if you need. Be glad to get more pics if you need too.
You have a good description of the exterior color, it looks more green...a bit sharper than the interior. |
