Is a 4L80E
worth it? I mean I am thinking about putting a auto in my C30 and no more than I would drive it the only one it probably benefit is the next owner. I am building 1/2 tons too so that truck won't be a daily for me if I was to drive one. I have a couple of 400's laying around as well as some 80E's out of later trucks that I've sold the 6.0 from. I know that you have to buy a controller, but being that I think I have like 5:13 gears a auto[OD] is the way maybe to go. Any thoughts?
PS I already have the next hood primed and standing up in the paint booth. I have not yet done anything on this truck except take off the cowl panel and clean out the leaves. Jim |

Re: Is a 4L80E
With the 5.13's in it, an overdrive would come in handy. The 4L80E is a tough unit, well worth it.

I would second that.

Re: Is a 4L80E
A 4l80 is worth every dollar to install. We uses the tci controller. No complaints
