starter
Have searched the threads for hours and can't find the answer to simple question. '70 C20-350-3 sp manual trans. Starter has 3 bolt bellhousing mount. Bellhousing has been dagmaged at one of the starter holes. Would like to replace with the block mount starter.
Will this work? Starter nose will fit inside bellhousing? Straight holes or staggered? Thanks |

Re: starter
On my Jimmy I replaced bellhousing mount with a block mount mini starter with aluminum block and starter drive was out the end. This works great. I think it will be staggered mount because should be the 168 tooth flywheel, but I'm not 100% positive.

Re: starter
Thanks Mike....... I climbed under there this morning, dropped the starter, bolted in a mini starter that I had on hand and bingo!! Fit like a glove and works great. Thanks for your reply.

Re: starter
I have 2 vehicles w/ the BH mount starter and the weak 3rd bolt hole broken. Both work fine.
I'd think a block mount would bolt in, but the BH might interfere w/ the fit. |
