what kind of rims are these?
Hey everyone. I just bought this 64 and was wondering if anyone knew what kind of rim they are? Aftermarket or original to another car? They are steel, 15 inch and 6 lug

Re: what kind of rims are these?
Sweet. They made those rally wheels in 6 lug?

Re: what kind of rims are these?
Yes although the 5 lug was more popular.
You don't see the 6 lugs that often.

Re: what kind of rims are these?
The look like the aftermarket versions of the car ralleys, which make both 5 and 6 lug in several bolt patterns.

Re: what kind of rims are these?
Cool thanks guys. Trying to figure out the best way to bring the chrome back out since they have been sitting for 7 years. Any ideas?

Re: what kind of rims are these?
Maguire's chrome cleaner/polish works well. If they are too far gone, you can still get those repop chrome caps and rings

Re: what kind of rims are these?
Steel wool or SOS pads? This will bring them back somewhat. They may be badly pitted sitting for that long.

Re: what kind of rims are these?
Hiya,
I think these are aftermarket rallys, very common. Chrome just can't be fixed once its dulled or flakey. I've had them rechromed (In T.J. since I live in Calif) but still $$ I'd get them stripped by a chrome shop and paint them silver. You can strip them your self with pool acid and a big battery charger, but you better watch a lot of utube videos if you haven't done if before. |

Re: what kind of rims are these?
As far as I know, Chevy only made those style Rally wheels in 5 lug and they were the 5x4 3/4" bolt pattern. Nova/Camaro/Corvette etc. Camaro & probably Nova were either 14" or 15". Vette was the only one that got the 15x8's.
A 5x5 or 6 lug pattern would be aftermarket. Depending on if they are Wheel Vintiques or U.S. Wheel, you can buy new center caps just like those for as low as $21.00 each. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wv...commendedparts http://www.summitracing.com/parts/us...el-center-caps

Re: what kind of rims are these?
I'm not too big on this type of rally. Anyone have a picture of these on a lowered truck?

Re: what kind of rims are these?
I just got rid of my chrome 6 lug rally's. I had 2 15x10 and 4 15x8. I swapped over to 5 lug and have a set of 15x7 in front and will have 15x10 in the back when my tires get here next week. here's a pic of the chrome ones and the front powdercoated black with chrome cop caps.

I've just always been a fan of the steel styled wheel with trim ring/cap concept. K

Re: what kind of rims are these?
You can also get them in larger sizes (diameter & width).
Here you go.

Re: what kind of rims are these?
Wow those actually look very nice on these trucks. Guess I'm gonna have to keep them and find some smaller tires to slam the truck
