Potential Buy
67 one family truck. Inline 6, 4 speed. Pretty straight with following rust issues: Both rockers. Rear cab corners. 2 inches of floor next to rockers. Front bottoms of fenders. Still runs. Obviously needs restoration but do not want to get in over my head or pay entirely too much.

It looks pretty nice overall. How does it run? Are the cab mounts good? The rust it has visible is pretty common and easily fixed for not too much time and money but cab mounts would make it tougher to repair. If it is not too expensive to buy it may be a good project.

I crawled underneath to see how far the floor rust went. Everything underneath looks good. Cab mounts looked good from all I could see. Surface rust on everything obviously.

a 67 short bed is a nice find. It seems like the rust is manageable so I would go for it!

That was sort of my thoughts, short beds are typically quite a bit tougher to find. I forgot to mention that it also has a wood bed. I am not crazy about the small window but I can live with that.

Really? The bed is probably worth a grand alone. I think you would be lucky to pick that up for under 3K, at least around here....

Not around here. Sure shortbeds are desireable... but no way would I shell out 3k for a rig I gotta do that much work to and yank the inline out for a V8.
Some like the inlines... but an inline 6 should make the price even lower. I think too many cats get caught up in the "OOOO it's a shortbed" deal and then money flies out of their wallet for a rustbucket. It's a neat lookin' truck... but man... 3k? Wow... that better have some rust fixed and a V8 (that runs good!) in it for that much. Gary

Gary is right that's a $1500 truck to us up here in the Northwest. Deff not a $3000 rig. But the '50 Chevy cab over will be worth some $ also.

I'd go 2.5k on it in a heartbeat. Between it being a 67, shortbed fleetside, and running and moving? Im sold. lol But then again i love 67's and have a bit of a bias towards these than say a '72. Pay what you think is fair but it looks fairly straight and all the rust is easily fixed.

I have to agree with the guys who say "$2500 to $3000 for a complete short bed starter.
Long bed trucks are way more plentiful, but shorts are KING. J.M.O.
