Redoing horn/lamp relay.
How many of you have redone your headlight/horn wiring to eliminate that goofy combo-relay thing that mounts to the core support? The headlight harness is now one of the last-remaining pieces of my truck that was never replaced.
We have halogen lights, and the o.e. switch was replaced with a heavy duty toggle to fit my modified panel, but the rest of the wiring for the headlghts hasn't been messed with. My horn hasn't ever worked either.

It looks like a pair of those regular headlight relays (I always call them "87a" cuz of the switched pole side)....but what is the larger thing? Is that your flasher, or a combination relay for the DRL function you mentioned?

Re: Redoing horn/lamp relay.
HI the 2 on left are (87s) low and high headlight relays... the right is just a standard horn relay ... red on horn relay is power (breaker-ed at 30 amp) green is horns... brown is (original) wire from horn button... power jumps (yellow) to high relay (light green is original high from switch to trigger)... PINK is power (fused 20 amp powered prior to breaker) for LOW beam.. TAN (original) from switch for trigger .... BLUES go to headlight harness (original) Whites = ground... you CAN power both headlight relays from the horn feed i just wanted to separate the feeds so if i lose one feed i don't lose all lights

Re: Redoing horn/lamp relay.
You can just use another relay for the horn too - here's my setup - one for high - one for low - one for fan and one for horn. With some strategic placement
