I'd say it depends on how much contact area there is between the speaker and enclosure. It may work you could try some silicone like "goop" or some two sided adhesive. You would probably be better off drilling new holes, if you warm the plastic up it will be less likely to crack you could also use a dremel with a grinding bit instead of a drill bit to avoid the issue all together.
