1970 Chevy LWB for sale

Well I hate to do it, but I will be selling my truck. I have a
need for a car, and will not have room for the truck. I have
invested a lot of time and money into it, and have really
enjoyed the project, but reality is setting in.

I will be sending it to my Dad to get any rock chips, or
door dings taken out, and any paint work that needs to
be done after using it as my daily driver the past year
and a half.

Here is what I have done to date:

It was painted in 2002, and the interior was gone through
at the same time. I have recarpeted the interior, including
the kick panels, and I have installed a Lumina steering wheel.
I redid my chrome bezel with white face guages and an
aftermarket white face Tach. I also replaced the seatcover
on the stock bench seat.

Just recently, I pulled the engine and tranny and installed
an Edelbrock Cam, Intake and a Holley 600 CFM Carb. I
also had the heads ground, seals replaced, and a new
torque convertor installed with a slightly higher stall speed.
I installed an HEI distributor, Double roller timing set and chrome
cover. It has power brakes, but I still have drums all the way
around. The rear drums were recently replaced, and shoes
on all four wheels. I installed a new oil pan and chrome
tranny pan, as well as the oil suction filter, and tranny filter.

I installed a K&N filter, 1 wire alternator, Headman headers
with an H-pipe setup straight out the back, with Magnaflow
mufflers and chrome tips. I installed the A-1 electric door lock
kit, and an aftermarket indash CD player, with a 6 disk changer
under the seat. It is powered by a Kenwood 75W amp, and
Polk audio seperates in the doors.

For wheels and tires it has Nitto 255/55R-18's on eagle Alloy
146 wheels. It is also lowered 2" with Eibach lowering shocks and springs.

I have invested approximately $8000 into it in the last two years
and have receipts since the truck was manufactured, 137,000 miles
ago.

I am asking $7000.

Dan, I have followed the progress on your truck and I must say it's a VERY nice truck!. I know you will regret it one day but you have to do what's best for you. Good Luck, somebody will be getting a cool ride!

It has been a real a great learning project, and I am happy with the way it has turned out.
There are so many people here on this sight that have helped me put it all together, and I am thankful for that.

I dont think that I am out of the scene. I am going to buy a car, but may end up picking up a stepside thats in need of repair someday soon!!

I love our thrucks, so it would be hard for me to stay away for long.

Not at all.....$7000 is very reasonable for that truck. Might want to try Ebay.

Cool Truck! I have one just like it just not as nice. I have a question for you did you lower it and if so how much. It really looks good the way it sits I would like to do that to mine. Thanks

Yeah I purchased a lowering kit from another truck owner. It was a 2" drop I believe. It consisted of Eibach springs and shocks. If I were to keep it, I eventually would drop it another 2 1/2" with drop spindles, and blocks in the rear.

I wish I could afford a new car outright, that may justify stacking anothert car in the driveway. Honestly I do miss the creature comforts of cruise control, A/C, power windows, and the handling of a good sports car, that is alot of my motivation to sell.

Dont get me wrong, I love our trucks like none other, just need more room for the wife and kids, !!

Buy a 94-96 Caprice/9C1 and then I will have another pal in another club....they are cheap and have a good following and a ton of parts.....come on Dan....

That way you can keep your truck and noone would bother it sitting next to your ex cop car!

Dan- That is beautiful! I think $7000 is a steal! Nice and clean! Wish I had the money to buy that bad boy for my hubby!
Did you try the Autotrader online? Also I have had good luck parking in front of the Chevy or GMC dealership with a for sale sign in it.....lots of guys love these 67-72 and will maybe buy that instead of the new 2004 chevy or GMC they went to the dealership to look at....just my .03

Thanks Diane!! That is a great idea parking it in front of the dealer, I think I'll try it. Isnt autotrader for newer cars only?? I can never do a search for anything older than '80 I believe??

Nice truck! The auto trader is for newer cars. However, they have a classic/older car section as well. That would be your best bet. Here's the link http://www.traderonline.com/
