WTB-Truck 12 bolt

I'm looking to buy a truck 12 bolt axle housing for a 70 GMC. I would be interested in both the early pre '70 narrow rear end as well as the later post '70 wide rear end. I'm looking to replace a leaky rear that has a chronic leak around the axle tubes where they are pressed into the housing. Thanks.

If it's coil, I've got 2 3.08 axles in north Alabama

Sweet! Coil is just what I'm looking for. What kind of shape are they in? Would you happen to know how far a ride it is from Nashville? How much are you asking to part with one? Thanks.

One is in a running 72 Cheyenne and you can test it out. $250 on it. Another one is already pulled that came out of a 72 that had sat for a while. $150 on it. I'm 2 hours south on Nashville

I'm probably more interested in the 72 that you have sitting. Has the diff cover been sealed to keep out water and rust from the inside of the housing? Do you recall it leaking around the axle tubes when it was installed previously? I'll be pulling everything out and replacing with the axles, posi, and gearset that I currently have. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks.

Re: WTB-Truck 12 bolt

The one that is out just got pulled from a 72 truck that had been sitting since 1993. It was a one owner, 66K mile truck. I have not had the inspection plate off. Axle was just pulled back in March. I'll PM my number if you want to talk more about it.

Thanks Josh. I'm talking to a guy about welding my the axle tubes on my current rear end so that I can compare what it's going to cost to replace vs. repair. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks again for all the info.
