Re: Long tube headers sbc

I would say that the key question is, does your truck have a manual trans or an auto trans? Those headers may or may not work with the '63-'66 clutch bellcrank and linkage.

Hey. I bought these hook headers for my 1965 c20 with a 327 and an auto trans. They fit prefect in the truck. They are the hooker header 2452. No dings on the headers or cut frame. Haha. http://m.summitracing.com/parts/hok-2452hkr

if you have a automatic trans .. those will fit just fine and work just fine no prob but if not .. then no they wont .. but i must say that is a nice price for coated headers

I cant comment on the fitment of those headers but I see that they are 1 1/2" primaries, which is okay. I ran that size primary on my 327 for years. I switched to 1 5/8" primary sized headers in April and I now see more out of my 327 than before.
Food for thought.
Greg.

Green Chevy c/20, I would like to see pics of your headers if possible. Especially from underneath. Would like to see where they attach to exhaust . does your truck have a bell cross member or automatic. Thanks.

Re: Long tube headers sbc

Ah ha! I have an auto trans, I knew those would fit! Yes, great price for coated headers and for a 283 I think 1 1/2 will be just fine. Thanks all When I get em on, may be a while I will post pics of them..

Re: Long tube headers sbc

In the third pic, looks like entire header is below frame rail. Is that correct? I see you don't have the bell cross member, but if it was there, would that header clear under it. I don't plan on lowering,so going below the frame is no problem. Looks like it ends at the cab mount,so that works out as far as torsion bar cross member in my truck. Thanks for the pics.

I have the same hookers on my sbc. Just be careful with the plug wires, the primaries run close-especially with the #1 tube if you want plug wires under headers. The primaries are also closer than headmans I had previously
