2015 Power Tour
Hey guys, I plan to do the Power Tour Long Haul this year. While I wish it was in my 55 Pickup, it is under construction and hopefully will make it another year. This year it will be in the GTO my son and I build for him. I cleaned it up and head to Dallas in the morning for work, then on Friday I leave Dallas and will spend the night in Des Moines, Iowa. Here is a picture of the car I shot earlier today on our town square.
I would love to meet any Forum Members - so if you see the car, please say hi. Feel free to post a picture of the truck/car you will be driving here - and I will be on the lookout for you! Ricky

Re: 2015 Power Tour
My first post here. But I will be there at the 2015 HRPT for the first day, and will drive part way to the second day. Problem is priority of vacation time, and I ran out. In any case, I will be in my '54 GMC.

Re: 2015 Power Tour
As a matter of fact, I have gobs of pics. I just posted in the "post your truck thread", with the story. Bottom line, I have the pictures, not very well organized yet. The truck has only been driving since Sept. of 2014, I got it finished in Fl, then drove it to Iowa, and put it back on blocks for the winter.
So, I have only really been driving it for a couple of months. Dealing with all of those little issues that always come up. If you have specific issues you want to see pics of let me know, and I will see what I can find. Neil |

Re: 2015 Power Tour
That's a nice goat you got there either a 66 or 67 as I can't see the taillights, wife and I went on the 2006 power tour in my 33 plymouth that started in Fla. but we jumped off in Ga. due to overheating trouble. My 67 gto was missing the heat shield for the starter and would overheat with the headers. Sure miss it.

Re: 2015 Power Tour
None of my project trucks are quite Road Ready so I will be in a supercharged 2010 Camaro (one of our Ridetech company cars) but look forward to seeing some GM pick-ups along the way!

Re: 2015 Power Tour
I should be at the first day in Madison. My transmission is making some noise so I'm crossing my fingers.

Anyone that makes it out and stops by the Ridetech booth to introduce themselves will get a sweet Ridetech beer Koozie.

Re: 2015 Power Tour
Well we made it to Memphis - And I'm sleeping at home for the first time in 10 days! I've seen a lot of cool rides and met some great people. The GTO has knocked down almost 2600 trouble free miles thus far. Headed to Dallas across Arkansas
The "back side" of the Texas map (on the way to Dallas for work). My early morning office view in downtown Dallas Entering Missouri Entering Wisconsin (from Iowa). In Il. Entering Gateway Motorsports The wifey is riding with me for the next several stops. I'll post some car pictures when we get back to Memphis Sunday. Ricky

Re: 2015 Power Tour
How did everyone do?
Got a pinhole leak in my radiator in Jackson on the way up. Found a Car Quest radiator at Advance Auto??? and changed that. Made it up to Wisconsin without any more hiccups. Then my 4l60 melted down about an hour South of St. Louis so I u-hauled it to Memphis where some friends picked it up and took it South to Jackson. My fiance and I road with my brothers for the rest of the trip and we got the truck from Jackson after the long hauler's deal Saturday morning. Already have the motor/trans out awaiting new parts.
