Need factory harness help

The dash wire harness was all cut up on my 1970 C20, so I pulled a real clean original harness from a 1970 C50. Everything is identical except the connector on the ignition switch. My original C20 has two tan wires going to an inner slot on the connector and the C50 has two blue wires going to an outer slot on the connector.

Anyone have a clue on the difference. Can I use the harness as is or move the two blue wires to the inner slot, or what???

I don't have access to a C50 wiring diagram to know where the blue wires go. If they are the same as the original, I would just move them down. What does the back of the switch look like? It may just share the same internal contact.

I didn't pull the ignition switch out of the C50 to know if it's the same as my C20 switch.

Re: Need factory harness help

I plugged the C50 harness in as is and everything seems to work with my C20. Well, the truck starts anyways.

Hey, a running motor in this sit is a good thing!

I was going to suggest removing the the tan wires from original and placing them in the same slot on the new harness (unless, of course, the tan wires are some of those your said are all hacked up.), and removing the blues all together.

It's possible they just changed the wiring colors between the years
