Header Gasket Question: Square heads, round headers, right gasket?
OK, I got square exhaust ports on my heads, obviously.) and round ports on the headers (hedmann's). I got stocker header gaskets, that have square ports..are they the right ones?
Header Gaskets or should I have gotten these ones? Round Header Gaskets |

Go for the round ones. I have problems with the gaskets blowing out at the corners when using square gaskets with my headers. The best header gaskets I have found are "dead soft" aluminum gaskets sold at Advance Auto, or from Jegs, Summit etc... Never had a problem with them myself.

better yet, dont use header gaskets at all. i use exhaust manifold gaskets, and they last a long time.

Tim,
what are you doing anyway? Headers off, distributor out, etc. You didn't tell me you were doing anything to your truck. ![]()
