In reference to the Trans slipping out of gear. I changed over from a three on the tree to a sm465, due to the same problem. I pulled apart my three speed and third gear was missing some teeth. Driving you could count, 1-5, jump out of gear, 1-5 jump out of gear ,etc. If you change transmissions, save the parts as many are one year specific. Sounds like a great find. Have fun

I also think that the Saginaw three speed transmissions up from the 50s to 67 are the same.

A Saginaw three speed and a Saginaw four speed are also interchangeable (same external size).
