The ones on the 54 my family had when I was growing up had body color wheels with white pinstripes that mached the top.

Year to year may have changed too.
I can't find info on 49 GMC but the GM Herritage page on 49 Chev trucks says that RPO wheels are body color and the 15 inch had no stripe, 16 inch had 3 stripes and 17 inch had 2 stripes.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
