Mini starter question
Just bought a mini starter, it's used but in vg shape. PO does know whether it fits a 153 or 168 (or both) flywheel. Can anyone tell me how I can ID what flywheel this starter will work with?
Any info is appreciated. Thanks! |

Whoever you bought it from should tell you that. Most of them are for 168 tooth flywheels. Only in special cases (402???) are they 153...

If it's dual drilled like mine, it fit's both size flywheels. See how there are four holes for the mount bolts? You choose which ever set you need depending on application.

If the bolts are diagonal from each other its the large flywheel
Straight across 153 If its like Krazy Texans then its the dual of course. Some are just one specific fit and look like a small stock starter ive got a delco that comes with crate motors and is used on 99 4.3 S10s it looks like a small stock starter but works a whole lot better! The 153 tooth came in cars We are talkin about small block right? Last edited by 1972C10; 02-14-2004 at 05:36 AM. |
