Upgrades with Factory Radio
My 86swb has the factory radio still but I want more. I can't afford one of those fancy stock looking radios so I just did some basic upgrades. I added bigblock73's 6x9 brackets and 2 6inch speakers. Is there a way to add an amp or sub with the stock radio?

Re: Upgrades with Factory Radio
Yes you can ad an amp to an old car radio.
This is probably the best way. You can wire the stereo to the high impedance connectors on most car amps as well. Look at the amp where it says High level input. You can connect the speaker wires from the radio to this input instead of using RCA plugs like the red and white ones next to the high input.
