Re: Build Thread - 1971 4x4 Ochre Blazer

Basically i disconnected the cables on each side and zip tied them up. With the 4 " lift it was pull snug, but when i added the 1" zero rate blocks they were pulled tight. And if your front springs are more than 4" of lift you may need to get a different steering arm. I cant remember if the one than cam with my tuff country lift was good for use with a taller lift or not. Are those springs from a later model. Im not sure but there is a site that builds brackets for springs longer than 52".

Re: Build Thread - 1971 4x4 Ochre Blazer

Well guys, I hate I haven't posted on here for a couple weeks. Things have been a little crazy. I just got my check from the insurance company from the wreck that I had in my work truck on June 25th. They totaled the truck and so I had to pick up a "new" work truck asap. After looking all over Dallas etc... I found a 1970 c10 lwb with a brand new motor (350) and transmission 2 miles from my house. I picked it up saturday. Pretty clean old truck. Sombody rippled the passenger front fender and it has dents in the tailgate and it needs the holes filled in from the old trim that was taken off. Looks like a black rattle can paint job and it needs a new interior, but it'll do nicely for a work truck. The PO had spent some money on the drive train: crate 350, new 3 speed transmission with B&M shifter, Edelbrock Performer intake, headers and a dual fan setup. It has a transmission fluid leak but I cruised it around just a bit and drives great. except for the no power steering part. I'm not gonna do too much to it. New seat, vinyl floor carpet or rhino liner, new dash pad, make some door panels out of diamond edge and put on a new fender and a new rocker on the passenger side. rattle can it black. Might consider putting a new front suspension clip so I have power steering and disk brakes. Here are some pics. I will be working on the blaze more soon. I just have a ton of stuff going on.

Re: Build Thread - 1971 4x4 Ochre Blazer

Sorry that it has been so long since I posted here. I still have the blazer and the c10. I drive the c10 regularly and havent messed with the blazer lately. I did however get the lift situated and the 20's on. It looks great. A couple months ago I bought a 2015 Silverado z71 4 door. I will try and put pics up of everything.

Re: Build Thread - 1971 4x4 Ochre Blazer

I guess it has been longer than I thought since I made an update. I installed a 10k lb 2 post lift in my shop quite a while back. I have been working on lots of projects including flip cars and my own vehicles and it is amazing how easy everything is to work on compared to not having a lift. Here are some pics of the lift being installed as well as some more pics of my vehicles. I don't have a real good pic of the blazer and I need to fix that lol. I sold my cadillac CTS with the 6 speed manual and bought an F250 diesel. It was always giving me problems so I got rid of it and replaced it with the 2015 z71. I went through the corvette at the first of the year and even took it to the race track: Cresson Motorsport Ranch in Cresson, TX. Since then I decided to get something more appropriate for the track and I bought a 2000 miata but still have the stingray.
