Anyone With Expirence With Weiand 142/144 Supercharger?

About to pull the trigger on a 144 supercharger and wondered about hood clearance. I'm running the stock hood on my 72. I'm going to strap it on my stock 8.75:1 350 with a new set of long tubes and holly 750 blower carb. Keeping the boost low while I build another 350 with upgraded internals/heads/cam/ect... it's a turbo 350 now with a 3.08 gear hope to also go 3.73s w/700r4.... I think the combo will make a fun street truck

At most the problem may be solved with a drop base air cleaner. I have a friend who put a blower on his 68 truck with plenty of room for the hood. I think he had a drop base air cleaner and maybe a 3 or 3 1/2 inch tall air filter.

I seen other trucks with a sbc and a small blower fit under a oe hood so it should work.

sounds like its gonna be a rippin ride.

I have a 142 under my stock hood......I have a 4" filter with a drop base that I cut even further to fit. 383 with the blower making about 5 lbs of boost max......makes on honest 500 hp and gobs of torque.
