temp sender question
I recently put a '68 or so 292 in my 66' that has idiot lights. The sender in the 292 has a single terminal (I'm assuming it came from a truck with gauges or that the later trucks are wired differently). Anyway, I ordered a WT356 with the dual terminals and it's the right diameter for the 292 but it's way too long and won't tread down far enough.
Anyone have any idea what sender might work or how I can wire up the single terminal to work? Thanks.

Re: temp sender question
I believe the 68 has one light that goes on when it gets hot as compared to the hot and cold lights in the 66. I would think if you wire the sender for the 67 to the hot light in the 66, it will work, except that the green light will not come on when cold. If that is acceptable to you.

Re: temp sender question
The thermo sender can go in 1 of 2 spots, is yours on the side next to the manifold or up front near the thermostat?

Re: temp sender question
I have a 250, similar, but not exactly the same as the 292. My trucks thermo sender is located up front and I replaced it a while back - sorry, don't have the part number - and had no problems with fit. If the cylinder head water housing/outlet in your truck is already drilled and tapped, go for it, the worst you can lose is some anti-freeze. If it's not, there's 292 owners on the chat board that might be able to offer parts advise.
I gotta say, I like having the hot/cold dummy lights. Call me crazy, but I also enjoy the manual choke, too.
