saddlebags
Has anyone put saddlebag fuel tanks on their beast? I think TonyP did, but never got back to me with specifics. I'm ready to do this and wonder just how much imagination I'll have to put into it, or if there's some sort of kit. Input and pix would be VERY helpful. Thanks in advance!

Why yes, I do want to be ready for anything. The scarier, the better. A buddy that bought my old '79 says people get out of my way more than they do for him.
I want dual tanks that would pretty much be under the front seats. Yes, I saw how NBC rigged that video. I plan to have 4" nerf bars on the side; if anyone gets thru those, I think I'd want the tanks to blow...

Someone on the board bought a rig with a tank under the front seats (inside the cab!) I'm pretty sure they yanked it out right away. I have seen a few rigs with tanks on each side. I don't know where they were mounted though. If you pulled out the rocker boxes and custom built some support with tubing, you could probably stuff some tanks in the empty space...

TANKS
That's what I meant about under the front seats: replace the rocker boxes w/custom tanks. I was wanting to know if anybody had done this, seen it done, etc. I'm guessing about 30 gallons if I do both sides. Then I can yank the 36gal tank in the rear and properly mount a spare. I'm thinking of putting that 36 gal tank in the frame of my trailer, which is made from a '71 long bed. A little plumbing gives me som LONG hauling capacity. Then I'd hve to put a pee-tube thru the floor...

Hmmm... Well there's an idea. I like the rocker box thing better, though that's not bad...

You won't want to get rid of the rocker boxes all together. If you run something like this photo, you could stuff some custom built tanks up in there.
