Re: Where is the best and cheapest place to purchase this steering wheel?
best and cheapest are normally mutually exclusive, however, that's a pretty generic wheel - as in about everyone charges about the same for it. I'd compare Brothers, LMC, Truck Shop, and Classic Industries and go with the least expensive, although they'll all be about the same. But it will likely be the same wheel from the same original supplier/mfgr.

GM called them comfort grip steering wheels. Here's a thread with some good info and pictures.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=540199 Try this link http://www.hitechclassics.com/category_s/1843.htm. Looks like $199.99 shipped.First 2 are the same except for hub diameter. I THINK our columns use the 3-7/8". |

I bought that same wheel off that big auction site. I had specify the correct hub. I think it was a "Camaro" hub for my tilt column.
Looks great, btw

Any sentence containing the words 'best' and 'cheapest' possesses all of the essential elements of an oxymoron.

Re: Where is the best and cheapest place to purchase this steering wheel?
I took him to be saying he wanted the best quality product at the least possible price. To be more clear, the same item can be offered by different manufacturers with one being better than the other. He wanted to know which one is the best. Then, with that information gained, he would then like to know who sells that particular item for the best price. It's really simple. There are various quality products and dealers sell same products for varying prices. I hope this helps you understand the inquiry better, because it's not an oxymoron at all.

Re: Where is the best and cheapest place to purchase this steering wheel?
Steering wheels, old, new, oe, whatever, have to be one of the most overpriced aftermarket or replacement parts out there. The stock 69 C10 steering wheel on my truck was horribly sun faded, cracked and damn ugly. My early searches for a wheel turned up $150 - $300+ basic Chevy wheels (new-repros-survivors etc) and I said no way. I started to patiently search my local CL & Ebay for a steering wheel for a reasonable price and eventually struck gold. Purchased the OE 67-68 wheel below from a fine gent on Ebay for $82.00 !!! and FREE shipping. Near perfect condition, no cracks, fading, even included all hardware and original horn button. I'm sure we all have scored a part like that at some point. Sometimes patience will save you almost $300 bones....... Happy hunting !!!

Re: Where is the best and cheapest place to purchase this steering wheel?
I had a guy looking at a black GM Sport-Grip I had for sale at Carlisle in '07. When I told him my price he shot a low-ball number back, he said because "They're reproducing these now". I asked how much those were, he told me, I added 50% to that and told him the new price. He got crappy and walked away. I thanked him for saving me from selling to him too cheap. Another guy overheard the whole thing, walked over, and bought it at the new price
