There's no such thing as a vented gas cap anymore. Even the ones labeled "vented" hold 1-3 psi. So if you plug all the openings on your tank it will burp fuel vapors when you remove the cap.
I would install new hoses and hook up the vapor canister. It doesn't hurt anything and it acts as the tank vent.

So just run the hoses to the vapor canister and disconnect all the ones to and from the charcoal can? The vapor can is the one in the rear correct?
