AMD sheetmetal
I am in the process of restoring a 1970 GMC short stepside. I was looking for some opinions on sheetmetal from AMD. I have used tabco before and I like some of their stuff, but last time I ordered 67-72 rocker panels they sent me cheap foreign stuff not their own stampings. There is so much stuff out there this board is a great resource for info like this so I am curious what you guys think. I want to buy quality for the best end result on this restoration. I will try to post pics of what we have done so far. Thanks.

Re: AMD sheetmetal
I have heard good things about both, but when I went to order rockers and other parts this past week, AMD was out of stock for a lot of what I needed, so I went with Tabco.

Re: AMD sheetmetal
I've bought a few hoods from AMD and the fitment was great. I'm pretty sure AMD bought out goodmark so it *should* be the best fitting repop stuff out there

Re: AMD sheetmetal
Over the last 30 years of building 67-72 trucks I have used every available patch panel out there and have my preferences of which ones I will use and others that I consider junk.
Here are a couple of threads I had responded to in the past about patch panels in general that you may find interesting http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=630393 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=669094 |

Re: AMD sheetmetal
On another note,,, It's almost like AMD is getting away from our trucks
My shop is right around the corner from them, I used to just call in a order and run over and pick my stuff up. As of late they are out of most everything for our trucks and nothing has been reordered. Don't Know for sure what they are up to, other than adding to the Morpar and GM lines.
