Lightbulb Project rusty tow rig. (68 c20)

Well here in the northeast I got this truck for just $500 with a title. 1968 c20 camper special, 7500gvw. Frame is good, body is not. Here are my plans
4 wheel disks
4/5" drop with rear air assist for towing
20" wheels
383 stroker built for torque
Cowl hood
Tubular control arms front and rear
2 tone paint with electric blue primary and gunmetal silver
Light window tint
Modern bench seats with fold down console
Led lighting
Probably black interior (easiest to match)
Bed cover?
Figure out how to convert wood bed to steel
West coast Jr mirrors

I'm budgeting $20k (money I saved up to buy a brand new car) as I'm only 21 and school loans are killing me....I'm an automotive technician who specializes in European cars so this is a walk in the park! I am hiring out body work as I cannot do that :/ any feedback and tips are welcome! Enjoy the show

Re: Project rusty tow rig. (68 c20)

Long story short needs a cab due to roof supports disintegrating while media blasting.... bed is also not salvageable so off too find a parts truck with bad frame!

Re: Project rusty tow rig. (68 c20)

Tubular Trialing arms will not hold up to the 7500 GVW... The Tubular are really design for Racing and extreme light loads...

COOL Plans. As 2 steel bed floor n place of wood u could look at my Homer build thread. I used a 73-87 steel floor.

Re: Project rusty tow rig. (68 c20)

Well I found a steel floor bed in rough shape. Looks like it'll need a bedside and some wheel arch repair. Looks like the make inner patch panels for it?

Re: Project rusty tow rig. (68 c20)

ok fine heres a quickie!

going to pick up the cab and frame from paint so i can throw the drivetrain in before he puts all the other panels back on. less for me to damage since i have no ability to do bodywork if it gets messed up!
