size of shocks to buy?

I just painted the frame and now i am looking to reassy. the frame and now i have a question on shocks. So, i have 2.5" drop spindles and then a 1" drop spring, so if i am not mistaken, i will need a 1" drop shock and not a 3.5" because the drop spindles do not move the shock mount location, is this correct the way i am thinking?
With that said, what about the rear. I have 3" drop springs and 1" drop blocks. So, when you add 3" drop springs, the shock mount is 3" lower or shorter, but then i add 1" drop blocks, which actually move the rear shock mount further away, so now instead of 3" drop shocks, i really need 2" drop shocks. is this correct?
Thanks for the help here, i am learning here....
Suggestions for brand?

Re: size of shocks to buy?

Sounds right to me but on the front if you need only one inch I think regular shocks would fit the bill. unless the drop shocks are the same money I would stay with the stock ones unless of course you have to match them on the back then if that is indeed the case it is a mute point. Mute [instead of moot] cause I need to stop talking about it. My children love it when I say it is mute they know to stop talking!
