Grant wheel is 90 degrees off - any easy way to re-clock it?

I tried swapping a Grant GT wheel into my truck, using one of their adapters, and it seems their wheel is 90 degrees off. Is there an easy way to re-clock it, such as disconnecting a coupling in the steering column, turning the wheel to where it needs to be, and re-connecting the coupling? Or is the shaft keyed to prevent this?

easy way is to take the wheel off and reinstall it in the proper position takes about 15-20 minutes

Take the nut loose on the steering wheel adapter that holds it to the shaft. Don't take it off just losen it up good. Pull up on the steering wheel if it comes up fine realign it then drive the truck in a safe place on the road and make sure it's straight. Then retighten the nut.

If it doesn't come up you may need a puller.

Let me try and understand this, you did a complete 4.8 swap, but can't figure out how to move your steering wheel 90 degrees???????

it really is a simple process. Depending on which grant wheel you have the hardest part could be fitting your horn button. You may need a wheel puller but I found those hubs never fit really tight on my shaft and a light pull on the steering wheel usually would unseat it.

The horn button is the annoying part. This wheel appears to be clocked into place by the horn button, and the plate the horn button mounts to appears to not be removable.

Or is it removable and just looks like it isn't?

I assure you it is removable. Go to grants website. They have instructions on how to install their kits. The removal is literally the opposite of install, really easy to follow their instructions from back to front.

You will need to remove the entire splined hub and clock it correctly. It's wise to ensure your wheels are pointed straight before removal of anything.

All Grant wheels use a hub which fixes the location of the horn button. Remove the wheel, noting which direction it must turn to be 'correct'. Remove the hub and rotate it in the direction and amount it needs to turn so that the wheel is in the correct position, re-install the wheel. Done!

Ok, it's fixed! Now that I realize that plate that the horn button sits on can come off, I pulled the plate off, turned the wheel ninety degrees, and all is right.
