Re: A New 68 Build Thread
The holes did in fact line up from my last update, but it didn't make for a good picture. Now that the bed is bolted to the chassis and we can maintain the alignment, it's time to continue finishing the fab on the bed sides. One of the design ques is rocker exit exhaust. Because this project is flying along so quickly and I need more to do
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The pattern I used for the sleeve was done in solidworks. I used a profile gauge to get the curvature of the rocker panel and then scanned that into the computer. From there I built the models and printed the templates for the sleeve and the cutout below. It worked surprisingly well! ![]() ![]() Time to cut the hole and check the fit. No turning back now! ![]() ![]() Love it, I can work with that. Time to weld it up and finish it off. ![]() ![]() Now to do it one more time on the other side. Once the other side is done, I will take some as built measurements to adjust the models for the machined parts. Then it's off to the machine shop. Thanks for checking it out!

Re: A New 68 Build Thread
Holy crap, I didn't realize how long it has been since I posted an update. Progress has been made albeit slow. Summer is rough to make progress as well as getting my business up and going and trying to ship my Wheel Tek tools.
Enough excuses. After getting the exhaust sleeve in the rocker, it was time to make the mount for the rocker treatment that will be coming. ![]() It is adjustable so that it will line up with the cab during final assembly. Then we decided we wanted to finish off the rear wheel wells a bit. This turned into a much larger project than expected. Don't they all? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The bottoms have been left long to interface with the rear pan that is coming as well as the rocker treatments. I just moved over to the drivers side to make it match. Thanks for checking in!

Re: A New 68 Build Thread
Thanks Nate. It's called CCTek, LLC. I do 3D design work as well as part manufacturing. You can check out some of the things I've done on instagram @cctek or cctek on facebook. Most of my work is automotive related, but I can help with quite a bit more. I also designed and am marketing the Wheel Tek Tool. You'll see info on it on the links. Thanks for asking.

Re: A New 68 Build Thread
I have been working on it Crash'd. But nothing new to post really. I am making the drivers side rocker exhaust exit and wheel well match the passenger side. I promise I'll post more when there is something new to show. Plenty more to come. I promise! Thanks for checking in!
Thanks very much!
