blazer frame notch
Anybody got any pics of a k5 blazer frame notch? I'm trying to keep the notch under the floor since I don't want to cut the body up. But I haven't been able to find any pictures.

Re: blazer frame notch
I can show you pics of mine but since it is going to lay flat I have a really tall notch and my floor will be pretty much cut out..

Re: blazer frame notch
I'm actually building the truck for my mom. The air ride is just to make it ride nice since she's older. I want it to look aggressive and low but not have to cut the body up.

Re: blazer frame notch
This was mine before we started cutting..
While it rode decent up front the rear rode like crap because with the small C notch I kept banging it on the frame over any decent bump.. The front was also pretty low and the a-arms did hit on things as I was driving it.. |

Is it on air in that last picture? Also what size rims are those 20's?

Re: blazer frame notch
Last pic is static dropped.. That is about as low as you want to go without air. Occasionally I would hit the lower a-arms if the road was uneven..
They are 20" Torque Thrust II's with 235/35 on the front and 275/40 on the rear. |

Re: blazer frame notch
Sorry don't.. It was just a basic c-notch.. If I remember with the roof on I think I had about an inch or so of room. Without the roof it may have went up to 2".. I know with the roof on I was banging the crap out of the rear without the roof it had a little bit of room..
The notch was nothing more than like a 3 or 4" piece of pipe cut in half and then welded into the frame rails. The truck really was hammered.. The front had cut dropped coils and 2" drop spindles. When it needed to be towed the towtruck couldn't get under the front with a stinger without giving it a serious push into it.. |
