In the summer of 1970 I was skidding logs near Hot Springs, AR. I had the little Detroit to the floor and a gear came off the blower. It fell down in the gears below it and stopped the engine instantly. Needless to say, it made a mess. While they were fixing my skidder, I got a job in construction, and the rest is history.

You know, I never thought about that till now, but that blower gear probably determined my destiny.
