Cardboard for Templates
Does anyone know who / what sells cardboard thick enough for templates? I see them using it on all of those car shows that we watch... where do they get it? I have tried the usual suspects... Wallymart, Target, etc....

I grabbed several 4X4 sheets at Costco. They use it between stacks of toilet paper on the pallets. They give them away. Home Depot used to carry it for sale, but discontinued it.

Posterboard is cheapest at the Dollar Stores - at least around here.
I feel that posterboard is superior to the corrugated type of cardboard for making patterns because it follows curves in two dimensions whereas corrugated doesn't like to bend perpendicular to the corrugations. The tempered hardboard panels at Home Depot are good too |

Actually I like the plastic "For Sale" signs you buy at ACE or the big box stores. It's honeycomb and holds it's shape better than cardboard. You can buy it in big sheets too.

for smaller stuff I use manila file folders. Works great and easy to cut

i use a product called tank board sold at home depot, for covering countertops during remodels. its just heave card stock in 4x8s
