Interest in aluminum hub knobs?

Would you guys with that have the "Big Hub" Dana Spicer blue plastic hubs have any interest in anodized aluminum version of that hub?

These would be CNC made out of 6061 aluminum and anodized blue to match the originals. I am not sure of the cost at this time but I am just putting this out there to find out how much interest there is.

Update: I will be making another batch (about ten sets) but they won't be in my hands for three weeks.

Re: Interest in aluminum hub knobs?

I am still working out all of the details but I will be moving forth with this project. I should have some pieces in hand in about a month.

I also have a source for the rubber o ring, although it is not a exact duplicate of the original but very close.

So i will be in touch soon.

Re: Interest in aluminum hub knobs?

I'd buy a couple or more. You can do anodized to look the same solid blue? I'm not up on it, so maybe you can. But I'm used to seeing anodizing be a transparent. I'd buy them either way.

Re: Interest in aluminum hub knobs?

I'd be interested in 2 sets for a D60. I'd even send you an old lock out to measure and use for testing too.

Re: Interest in aluminum hub knobs?

Thanks for the feedback guys. Like I said the project is moving forward.
I will certainly let you guys know when they will be ready.

In the meantime I will have to upgrade to "High Octane" to be able to sell these.

Again thanks for the positive feedback.

Re: Interest in aluminum hub knobs?

a friend of mine has been working on these. i gave him a new dana 60 spicer knob to make it from. they came out excellent.

are you planning to make these with the spicer name in the knob?

Re: Interest in aluminum hub knobs?

What's the point of custom-made knobs for standard Warns on a Dana60? Not being smart, but why not buy the premiums or other upgrade hubs and get better everything, all new? The point of these hubs here is to retain the OEM Spicers while upgrading the knobs to metal with the original look.

Re: Interest in aluminum hub knobs?

thats how we modeled for test fit before aluminum machine work. out of the printer they are too brittle and very poor tolerances. good for rapid prototyping.

Because I want blue knobs on mine. And paint will chip off over time.

Re: Interest in aluminum hub knobs?

Gotcha. Well, if the Warn Dana60 dials aren't planned for production you could run these:

Re: Interest in aluminum hub knobs?

Those seem to be really cheap compared to the last set of warns I purchased.

On edit.... Darn it. That part number is for a D44.

Re: Interest in aluminum hub knobs?

Oh, sorry. I googled Dana60 and that's what the result said it was. Once on the Summit site I didn't read the listing, just copied and pasted. They are good hubs and cheaper than Warns. I found them on Amazon for Dodge Dana 60 for $125. Look around, you should find them for GM

I'd be in for a couple sets if they are for the "external" hub Dana 44.

They are being manufactured right now and I should know more in week or so.
I would like to have them in my hands by the end of Nov. I will keep you posted.

Here is a good little history on the GM hubs, these are almost impossible to find, been looking since I got my truck, and tow hooks...
