Here is a thought for you on the whole wheel thing...
I bought an old set of 6 lug 3 nub wheels and cut the centers out of them and welded them into a set of Speedway 15x14 steel hoops. I am also using the chrome hubcaps as well as the trim rings. They have a custom spacing so that everything fits without narrowing the axle. I am going to run some MT 31x16x15's on the back, I believe those would go a long way towards handling that 427. I believe that it is post 23 or 24 in my build thread if you want to check them out....
