Picked this up today...60 SWB!!!!
I have wanted this exact truck for a long time. I can't wait to get it home. It is 1250 miles from me. I had a friend pick it up today. I think $2500 was a pretty good deal. No motor or trans but a super solid truck...

Re: Picked this up today...60 SWB!!!!
I want to ask a few questions about this 60. How rare are these 60 Deluxes? How rare is it to have factory A/C?

Re: Picked this up today...60 SWB!!!!
I see lots of pictures of 1960 trucks. I have found zero with that chrome. I don't have the truck in my hands. A friend picked it up today. He says it has a A/C condensor in front of the radiator. I didn't see any a/c ducts in the dash so maybe it had a add on a/c unit at one time. Im not sure.

Re: Picked this up today...60 SWB!!!!
That is a nice truck
The '60-'61 Custom Cabs with the side trim and the trim across the back are quite rare. I see one of the door pieces is missing. That is going to be difficult to find unless it happens to be included with the truck. The trim alone is likely worth close to what you paid for the truck. The A/C would have been added on by either the dealer or the owner. It would have been an under dash unit

Re: Picked this up today...60 SWB!!!!
Ok the add on a/c is kinda what I figured. I saw one picture of the inside and I didn't see any signs of a/c. The chrome is missing. He said when he got the truck it was already missing. Do these 60s have a torsion front end instead of springs? My buddy says it sits on the ground and he couldn't see any coil springs.

Re: Picked this up today...60 SWB!!!!
Awesome find and it looks like it's in excellent shape!! For what you paid I'd say you made out great especially since it's a rust free truck in our area. What are your plans for it? Engine and trans? I see your in Binghamton NY. I'm only about 45 min from you in PA.

Re: Picked this up today...60 SWB!!!!
Not really sure what my plans are for sure. I have a couple 454s laying around. I have a Vortec 350 but im kinda old school. I like things that are restored although then when i finish them i never want to drive them because im afraid some asshole will open a door or whatever and put a scratch on it. So i may just put a motor and trans in it and drive it.

Re: Picked this up today...60 SWB!!!!
I could see just cleaning it up and upgrading it mechanically. That way it's safe and a pleasure to drive, but not something you have to worry about in parking lots.

My '70 is "parking lot safe" and its really nice. Drive up, park, go inside. Still gets all the looks and can hardly go anywhere without some guy wanting to chat.

Re: Picked this up today...60 SWB!!!!
I'd vote 454 also! I bought a 454 for my 66 but it turned out to be bad so I'm looking for another one to rebuild.
