stupid questions choke removal

Ok, sorry ahead of time. I'm replacing my dash gadge cluster bezel. The manual choke cable won't come off at the dash.

what's the trick?

Re: stupid questions choke removal

It won't disconnect at the dash. You have to disconnect at the carb and unscrew the bezel nut behind the dash bezel. Then you can pull it out!

It's actually really easy. You're already replacing your bezel you say, so that's half the work already. Best of luck with that!!!!

Re: stupid questions choke removal

I just pulled my bezel off and I did not have to remove the choke. The hole in the bezel was bigger than the knob. Maybe I was lucky?

Re: stupid questions choke removal

LMC's catalog shows the knob and bezel as seperate numbers so there is either a set screw in the knob or it screws on

Re: stupid questions choke removal

Thanx for the replies. I took it all apart (my knob bigger than hole). Turns out the knob was threaded onto the cable.

Duh
