What size are motor mount bolts?

Title says it all. What size are the motor mount bolts for a small block?

Re: What size are motor mount bolts?

3/8" with a 9/16 head hold the mount to the block...

7/16" with a 5/8 head is the single bolt that holds the engine to the frame.

Re: What size are motor mount bolts?

Is that 1 inch for both? How long is the bolt that goes through the frame mount?

Bumping an old thread vs starting a new thread......

Is that bolt the single bolt that holds the rubber/urethane mount to the pedestals on the frame? 1" long, 7/16" threads (shouldn't the thread pitch be written differently?), 5/8" head?

Re: What size are motor mount bolts?

I bought a set of SBC mount/ cushions on eBay a few years ago and on of the holes that is used to attach them to the frame stand was 3/8" thread and the other was 7/16"! Talk about frustrating! Of course the next day I had to go buy a 7/16" bolt since I didnt have a single 7/16 in my "magic bolt bucket"!

Yes it is. The 5/8" would be the socket size....

I stopped by a friends house yesterday and he was having trouble getting the bolt in one of his rubber mounts. After looking at it with a mirror I told him to try a 3/8" bolt in it... went right in. He just bought both mounts at the same time and one of them was 7/16" and one was 3/8". Go figure.
