72 Cheyenne super camper special C20 BB
I think Jocko had mentioned how much he likes these. This truck looks really nice in the deluxe black and white. It is for sale on the San Diego craigslist for $8500. I would love to have one like this but I would have to live in it if I brought it home

Re: 72 Cheyenne super camper special C20 BB
That's a heck of a truck mike! If it was 4x4 it would be almost perfect in my eyes. Nice find I hope somebody here will give it a new home.

Re: 72 Cheyenne super camper special C20 BB
That truck has been for sale for a while now and I'm surprised no one has bought it yet, then again its in truck rich California and a C20 is not for everyone.

That seller had a 2wd blazer on CL a while back. I don't see it being relisted so he must have sold it.

Oh man that's a cool one! You don't see black and white two tone very often either.

Re: 72 Cheyenne super camper special C20 BB
That's a fine example of a top-of-the-line C/20. I'd make it happen if I could

Re: 72 Cheyenne super camper special C20 BB
Holy cow Mike, yes, you are correct, jocko like! I can't BELIEVE I just sold my black buckets too.... I find it hard to believe it hasn't sold yet either. Guess all the socal folk want hot rods. I do too, but wow, this is top shelf in my book. It's very original. Thanks for sharing Mike, now I need to scrounge 8500 bucks...
Just noticed it's am/fm also - with no NL2 aux tank.. Hmm. I have two fender well fill (i.e. no cut) saddle tanks laying around for just such an opportunity. |

Re: 72 Cheyenne super camper special C20 BB
I think if it still had the AM-FM, or at least if the dash had not been hacked up, it would have been sold.

Go ahead and buy it. I'm sure she won't miss you, and more than one of us has lived in the back of one for a while. At least I did.
I love that truck.

Re: 72 Cheyenne super camper special C20 BB
Not sure how I've missed this one if it's been for sale for awhile - but there were some similar ones up for sale before, including this 460 deluxe two-tone Cheyenne Super, solid black Cheyenne Super Longhorn, and recent solid black Canadian Cheyenne Super Custom Camper with cab lights. All nice trucks. Have to admit this one that Mike posted is pretty special with the big block, buckets, and am/fm. Agree, wish the am/fm was still there - wonder if dash hacked. Anyway, the one listed above is a GREAT truck, it would be a beaut restored and it's VERY original (seems so anyway). I'm slowly peeling myself off the ceiling on this one and staying the course with my highlander for now. At least until one of these comes along as a K20... Then the 76 may have to go to make room.

Nice truck, if it were a K20 it'd be too hard to resist!

Re: 72 Cheyenne super camper special C20 BB
If it were a K/10 or K/20 it would already be in my driveway . As Greg pointed out above, C/20's like this are not uncommon here at all, there is a nice gmc blue/white Sierra grande that has popped up again recently. As Mark pointed out, hot rod lovers here pass it up as well. As Steve pointed out, the dash is cut and the doors are cut for speakers. It is a very nice truck from the pics and it will sell eventually to someone out of state IMO.

Re: 72 Cheyenne super camper special C20 BB
I didn't even notice the AM/FM. The black-and-white is a great combo. I am planning to focus on my highlander, too. There are definitely too many trucks out there for my limited budget

Re: 72 Cheyenne super camper special C20 BB
Ha. I had to stare long and hard at side by side photos of a black super w/black buckets interior and my somewhat completed white truck w/blue highlander interior to come to the same conclusion. Something about the idea of "sunk cost" came to mind. Can't have em all, that's for sure. I'd make an exception/slim the herd somehow if I could find a similar k20.

I will stay on the lookout for that one for you. I'm still at the "want em all " stage, so I will have to narrow that down or I will end up in the poorhouse.

Re: 72 Cheyenne super camper special C20 BB
I can relate to that all to well. My truck ADD kicks in way to frequently! My wife has been pretty patient but she is starting to roll her eyes more when I talk about getting a blazer or anther truck haha.

Re: 72 Cheyenne super camper special C20 BB
To me the cut dash, speakers in the doors and by the look of the plywood in the bed it probably needs a new wood bed floor as well but these things are not a big deal to me. Its a loaded black and white Cheyenne Super with tilt, buckets and a big block in pretty original shape and reasonably priced. I wish the Canadian to US dollar exchange rate was better as i'd probably take run at that truck.
