AT crossmember correct?

I can't tell if I have the crossmember in the correct location or if it's upside down. I still need to swap the new mount with the rubber on the trans itself

Re: AT crossmember correct?

It appears to be upside down to me, seems it would fit better the other way, try it...

Re: AT crossmember correct?

I think it's upside down too. I just installed a tubular one yesterday. Never saw one like yours. The tubular one I have is nice because it's got better clearance for exhaust pipes. It was $72 to the door on evilBay.

I was thinking it was upside down too...can you post a pic of your tubular frame? I got mine as a complete kit, tubular motor mounts and the crossmember you see in the pics

Re: AT crossmember correct?

Your transmission crossmember is correct. I believe that's a gmc Paul crossmember. The ends that mate to the frame are a C channel right? If you flipped it over the trains would be above the top of the frame. Your pictures ( or truck) however, are upside down.

Re: AT crossmember correct?

Not sure if the gmc Paul but yes on the c channel. I put a pic of the kit I bought. It fits great but came with zero info and I don't wanna have to pull it all apart bc it's upside down :/

Re: AT crossmember correct?

Now that I see a good picture of the mount you and the OP have I believe his is mounted correctly and that yours is mounted incorrectly.

Re: AT crossmember correct?

So I've seen both answers, should the flat side be sitting flush with the top rail or drop down?

It definitely can't sit flush with the top rail. Your transmission tail housing would be pointing WAY high.

Re: AT crossmember correct?

How's that ol' saying go? A picture is worth a 1,000 words. Here's my truck.
