Does my truck sit low for stock?

I think my springs have sagged (they are listed as HD on the build sheet).

I am trying to decide between a 4" shackle/hanger drop or a 5" flip kit. I am afraid the flip kit might be too low since my springs are sagging.

I am planning a 4' drop for the front (2.5" spindles and 1.5' springs.

I also have a small hill for a driveway, and I want to be able to get up it without scraping...

Before you do anything, buy new springs if you think they are sagging. That way when you drop it you know exactly where you sit...literally.

It looks like you have the light duty 3+1 springs (guessing by the way it sits)...they are pretty cheap to buy new.

Surprisingly, my glove box build sheet shows heavy duty springs and towing package.

Since you have HD springs, then I would do a flip...my 4 inch rear shackle hanger kit didn't make it looked like it was dropped 4"...simply because the rear already sat pretty high (HD springs as well).

If you plan to buy new rear springs anyway, you can always buy drop springs. They won't require that you cut anything. They just bolt in.

I have a set of 4" drop springs that I bought for mine that I will be installing as soon as I get a relatively warm and sunny day.

It looks silly right now with just the front dropped.

Go with the flip kit. I have the shackles, hangers as well as lowered leaf springs. In the long run the flip kit is cheaper, i guess it's cheaper in the short run too. LOL Correct me if I am wrong but with the flip kit you get the c-notch, in some of them anyway, and you won't have to worry about your axle banging the frame....like mine does. I really need to get that c-notch installed.

Yeah, but will my truck make it up my driveway with a flip kit?

I have found new flip kits for $60 w/o a c-notch, but I would probably just c-notch it at the same time since I have access to a welder anyway.

Here are my ground-to-fender lip measurements:

FD: 30.375 FP: 31.0
RD: 31.875 RP: 32.375

My suspension is all stock, so I am guessing a 1.5 front coil alone would simply bring me back to the height I already have on the FD (front driver's side)...

here's a 6" drop on the back. And mine sat at about the same height as yours. This is the best pic I have to show.

Ok, so a 6" Flip actually lowers our trucks 4" and a 4" shackle/hanger actually lowers our trucks 2", right.

So why do they call them 6" flip kits??????

Haha

A 6" flip kit will lower the truck as advertised (6"). Shackles and hangers are worth 2" a piece. All shackles are adjustable 1-2" and my DJM hangers were too.

No kit will lower your truck EXACTLY as advertised but close enough.

wish I would have known that before I lowered mine. Whta would be involved in going to 5/7 from a 4/6.... or is it useless?

If you have a 6" flip kit now, simply add shackles. Up front, new springs will do the job. It all depends on your current setup.

I am probably going with the 5" flip kit (which can easily be made 6" or 7" with shackles).

I am still concerned it might be too low given that I think my truck sits lower than stock already (sagging springs, I guess).

I am not going to buy new stock springs before I do the drop, that just sounds like throwing money away to me.
