Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)

I'm back with a small update. Been busy with so many other things. But I managed to go pick my seat up. Color is aged brick, I also had full seat heaters installed. Should be nice on those cold days. The seat and the top of the door panels are going to be in the red and the rest of the truck will be the black.

Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)

Need some help finding a steering wheel like the one Skymang's used on one of his builds.
Its 85 Ford or any 60's 16" hard plastic wheel like the one shown here. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=541904&page=5

Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)

Look what I just picked up. Anyone interested??
All original 1956 Chevy four door sedan, California car came out of San Luis Obispo everything is original on this even has original wheels with original hubcaps no engine but transmission is there. Just pulled it out of the barn/yard. come get it! The body and trim are in great condition. I would keep the patina. Make me a fair offer

Just pick one thing to start with don't look at everything that needs doing.

Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)

This is an adjustable brake proportioning valve that is typically used for roadracing applications. You can get non-adjustable types that are already properly 'biased' for the vehicle application. Having adjustability is NOT always a good thing....

This is a really good article on the DO's and DON'Ts of Brake Bias.

http://stoptech.com/technical-suppor...tioning-valves

Hope this helps...

Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)

That is a great writeup. On my 240Z I considered increasing front caliper size and changing rear drums to disks. After reading similar writeups and learning about the engineering that went into the car in order to balance it, I just opted to put on higher performance pads on all 4 corners (same compound), figuring that will retain balance.

I plan on doing the same on my truck when I get it done.
