heater hose orientation

Possible stupid question. I know that our heaters require two different size hoses. does it matter which hose size fits on top or bottom of the block? In seeing pictures of other truck engine compartments, it seems I may have my hoses 'flipped'. Both fit onto the connections with no leaks. I have a simple pass through core, no ranco valve setup.

Re: heater hose orientation

if i'm not mistaken, the 3/4 hose runs to the water pump, and the 5/8 hose runs from the intake manifold.
